The Fite Ranch Bed & Breakfast is nestled east of the Rio Grande. It offers sensational views in all directions, not to mention the most awesome sunsets in the world! The desert terrain offers an abundance of wildlife including numerous birds, reptiles, deer, antelope, and the occasional oryx. For wildlife enthusiasts, the ranch borders the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

I can’t tell you how much we’ve enjoyed our stay! To think that I almost found you by accident, because I wanted to see the Bosque del Apache, and nothing in Socorro looked particularly promising…this place was perfect! Everything was great and so thoughtfully put together-from the excellent breakfast, to the huge bowl of fruit, to the great cowgirl art. We’d love to come back and stay longer next time. Today was perfect-we started at the Bosque del Apache at dawn, saw pelicans, a king fish, tons of ducks and a golden eagle! Drove out to the Very Large Array and had a nice chocolate malt at Evett’s Soda Fountain in Magdalena. It was like going back in time. Then we took your suggestion and hiked out to “the chimneys”- it was a beautiful sunset, and made it back just ahead of a little storm-saw lots of lightning in the west-very dramatic. We sat on the swing in the back last night when all the stars were out-amazing!
